Feeling seen, heard, and understood is a gift in itself. I see each client as unique, with their own unique set of needs and a desire to have those needs understood. You want to be in a caring, empathetic, and collaborative space where you feel supported to explore, heal, and uncover your strengths and inner wisdom at your own pace. My approach to counselling includes providing a space where you can be yourself and share in a relationship centred on guiding you with strength, experience, and knowledge.

When working with me, I help you develop a kinder and more understanding relationship with yourself, while supporting you to develop the tools to navigate your challenges with gentleness, resilience, and understanding.

My work is rooted in an anti-oppressive lens. I am deeply committed to creating an inclusive and equitable space where clients feel respected, valued, and empowered—no matter their background, identity, or experiences. I aim to provide a therapeutic space that honours your unique story, fosters healing, and supports you in building a life aligned with your values and goals.

My patience, enthusiastic nature, communication skills, and creativity facilitate a productive and supportive setting in which to work with you in our session together. I have built and nurtured a positive therapeutic relationship with children, youth, adults and families. I am passionate about creating a safe, inclusive therapeutic space where you feel heard, understood, and empowered. Using evidence-based modalities, I work collaboratively with you to unpack trauma, develop healthier coping strategies, and build a life aligned with your values and goals.

I have had the honour of working with children, youth, adults, couples, and families in diverse settings, including schools, the Stop the Violence program, the Rebuilding Relationship group for me, and the Ministry of Child and Family Development (MCFD). I support clients facing challenges related to ADHD, autism, anxiety, depression, complex PTSD, domestic violence, high-conflict divorce, and co-parenting. My client-centred and strengths-focused approach fosters trust and empowers clients to embrace their unique strengths while overcoming life’s challenges with self-understanding and resilience. I am a Level 2 Certified Clinical Trauma Professional with a specialization in narcissistic abuse, providing compassionate, trauma-informed care. Additionally, my approach is uniquely tailored to the neurodivergent community, emphasizing cultural sensitivity and deep empathy.

As a behaviour support worker, I worked with youth with Autism, Bipolar disorder, PTSD, ADHD, OCD, Oppositional defiant disorder, Reactive attachment disorder, Fetal alcohol syndrome disorder, learning delays, and self-harming behaviours. My job entailed providing an opportunity for the youth to engage with their peers and the community. My awareness of the youth’s strengths and weaknesses enabled me to write effective behavioural programs. Additionally, I have communicated with children through various ways, such as Pecs, ASL, and TouchChat.

“Happiness can be found, even in the darkest of times, if one only remembers to turn on the light.” – Albus Dumbledore

I am passionate about engaging in activities that challenge my body and mind. I hold a B.A. in Psychology from UBC, a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University, and a Level 2 Certified Clinical Trauma Professional.

More than just my work

In my free time, I roll around my aerial hoop. I also love exploring nature, whether it’s through hiking, walking, or simply enjoying the outdoors to refresh my spirit. Skiing is another favourite activity of mine, where I can enjoy the thrill of the slopes and the beauty of the mountains. I also love doing puzzles while listening to a true crime podcast. Watching horror movies is another way I relax and entertain myself. And, of course, I cherish the moments spent with my dog. He has an incredible ability to bring joy and laughter into my life.

I believe that counseling is a two-way process which means working together to identify problems and develop solutions. I believe my client is their life expert and I will do my best to meet them where they are and support them in their life journey. I decided to become a clinician because I have always found individuals’ resiliency and perseverance in facing their life challenges extremely inspirational. I became a counselor to help others find their path again and feel privileged to witness that.

I view counseling as a journey of self-exploration by the client which helps them increase their level of self-understanding and self-awareness. I embrace imperfections while remaining open to improving. I believe the connection and rapport we build together are crucial to therapeutic success. I hope to be able to provide a safe, non-judgmental space for my clients to assist them in the process of discovery and acceptance of the self.
